Meet the Team...

Ryan Paradis, B.Sc., M.C.P.

Executive Director

Ryan is an experienced professional with a background in urban planning.  He has many years of experience with Indigenous planning, urban Indigenous community development as well as community economic development (CED).  Ryan also has a passion for, and experience with the development of Organizational and Governance Structures.  Ryan lives in Winnipeg with his loving wife Amanda, where they are parents to their beautiful daughter, Jade.

Arlene Koswin

Finance Officer

Arlene Koswin is the Finance Officer for Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres. She is responsible for the daily bookkeeping/accounting procedures and fiscal management and planning. Arlene’s previous employment includes 8 years at The Canadian Wheat Board as Payroll Supervisor and 7 years at Richard M. Alcock Law Office as Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk. She has obtained Certification in Bookkeeping and Accounting Procedures, Payroll Management and 3 levels of Accounting at Red River Community College. Arlene lives with her daughter, Chelsey, a Law student at U of M, grandchildren Mia, 12, and Orry, 9, and a cute cat, Bella.

Laurie Carrier

Office Manager

Married in 1980, I was a stay at home Mom to raise my three boys.  Went back to school for upgrading to secure a fulltime job out of the home.  Received a diploma in Administrative / Bookkeeping at the Academy of Learning.  Found fulltime employment at the Indian & Metis Friendship Centre in 2000 as their Receptionist and then promoted to Finance Assistant.  I have been working at MAC since 2004 as Clerk / Office Manager.  I enjoy reading and spending time with my children and many nieces and nephews.

Coreen Roulette

Program Officer

Coreen Roulette is originally from Dauphin, Manitoba, and has decades of involvement with the Dauphin Friendship Centre. Coreen worked in the field of Early Childhood for much of the last 30 years, working 15 of those years for the Dauphin Friendship Centre, in the Aboriginal Head Start Program.  Coreen currently resides in Selkirk, MB with her son, Brendan, and Mother, Shirley, where she volunteers monthly at the Selkirk Friendship Centre bingo. Coreen began her work with the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres in December of 2015 in Policy and Research.

Hollie Sutherland

Administrative Officer

Hollie Sutherland is the Administrative Officer for the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in arts at the Canadian Mennonite University where she also played on the Women’s basketball team for 4 years. Hollie has many years of experience in Friendship Centres as she volunteered at the Selkirk Friendship Centre for 5 years prior to University. Hollie’s hobbies include traveling, playing sports, kiteboarding in the summer and playing with her Mexican cat Mitzy.

Nathalie Buissé, M.A., B.A.


Nathalie is a researcher for the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres. She has over nine years of experience working as a Consulting Archaeologist/Researcher in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Nathalie has a Masters in Archaeology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelors in Anthropology from the University of Manitoba. She recently obtained a diploma in Project Management and a Management certificate from the University of Winnipeg. Nathalie lives east of Winnipeg with her husband and their two cats.
